2. Collection and storage of personal data and the nature and purpose of their use

a) When visiting the website

When you visit our website, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to our hosting provider’s servers. This information is temporarily stored in a log file. The following data is collected without your intervention and stored until automatic deletion:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • Website from which access is made (referrer URL)
  • The browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer and the name of your access provider

The data mentioned are processed by us for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring a smooth connection of the website
  • Ensuring comfortable use of our website
  • Evaluation of system security and stability as well as for further administrative purposes

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest results from the data collection purposes listed above. In no case do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about you.

b) When contacting us by email

If you reach out to us using one of the email addresses listed on this website (e.g. office@slct.com, hr@slct.com), the data you transmit (in particular your email address and the content of your message) will be processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b or lit. f GDPR.

3. Hosting and infrastructure

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA) using their global edge network. When you visit our site, Vercel automatically processes certain technical access information (IP address, timestamp, URL, user agent, referrer) in order to deliver the requested content, mitigate abuse and keep the service stable.

Vercel is GDPR-compliant and we have entered into a Data Processing Agreement with them. The European edge nodes serve EU/EEA visitors from EU data centres where possible. For more information, see vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in providing a reliable, performant and secure website.

4. Analytics

We use Umami to gather aggregate, privacy-friendly statistics about how this website is used (e.g. page views, broad referrer categories, screen size class). Umami is a cookieless analytics service that does not set persistent cookies, does not store any personal identifiers and does not share or sell data to third parties. IP addresses are processed transiently to derive a country-level location signal and are not retained.

Because no personal data is collected or stored, no consent is required under the e-Privacy Directive / TTDSG. The legal basis under GDPR is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f - our legitimate interest in understanding how our site is used and improving it.

More information on Umami: umami.is/docs/about.

5. Transactional email (Resend)

If we add forms to this website (e.g. a contact or application form) that send the submission by email, message delivery is handled by Resend (Resend Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). In that case, the data you submit (e.g. name, email, message content) is processed by Resend solely for the purpose of delivering the message to the relevant SELECT mailbox.

We have a Data Processing Agreement with Resend, and they maintain a public list of sub-processors. For details, see resend.com/legal/privacy-policy. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR for contractual enquiries and Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR for general communication.

As of the date of this policy this website does not actively operate any such form - all contact happens through the email addresses listed above. This section will become active once forms are added.

6. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies. Functional cookies may be used by the framework (Next.js) for purely technical purposes such as routing and load-balancing; these contain no personal information and are not used for profiling.

Our analytics provider (Umami, see section 4) explicitly does not set any cookies.

7. Disclosure of data

A transfer of your personal data to third parties for purposes other than those listed below does not take place. We only share your personal information with third parties if:

  • You have given your express consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR;
  • Disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR is required to assert, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • A legal obligation exists pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR;
  • Disclosure is legally permissible and required for the settlement of contractual relationships with you according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.

8. Your rights

You have the right:

To exercise your right of revocation or objection, please email office@slct.com.

10. Data security

All connections to this website are encrypted using TLS (HTTPS), provisioned and rotated automatically by our hosting provider. We also take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or total loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

11. Updates to this policy

This privacy policy reflects the current setup of this website. Due to the further development of our website and offers or due to changed legal or regulatory requirements, it may be necessary to amend this privacy policy. The current version is always available on this page.
